Here's a couple of FRONT PAGE posts I just had to drop. They show how stupid Redditors can often be--and still get asspats from other Redditors. Mental age of 13 and all that. Cringey.

Tapeworm Man needs medical assistance NOW; there is a possibility that there is more than one tapeworm and they could burrow into his heart or possibly even his brain. He probably needs a laxative purge of his intestines, and then whatever de-worming drugs they have for humans.

Reddit is a basement; much of it reminds me of the Something Awful forums, except you don't have to pay for your abuse. If I didn't have the blog to promote and a couple of subreddits to "manage", I would have dropped out of it years ago -- it has very little value the older you get.

This relates to the Ukraine war. My partner is involved with the "NAFO" thing on Twitter which raises money for Ukraine causes and (tries to anyway) fight off the endless Russian online propaganda war. I pointed out to her that subreddits like r/russia, r/moscow, etc. are controlled by, and saturated with posts from, obvious Kremlin sockpuppets.

I suspect whoever managed to seize r/moscow will lose control once the Putinist "professional trolls" manage to talk/bribe Reddit staff into yanking away the mod rights. Give it a couple weeks at most.

I think all of this is idiocy, but no one ever listens to me.

The idiots on Reddit and Twitter are in love with the newest sociopath, Johnny Nguyen, who runs the "Smokestrom Smoke Shop" on West Sarhara Ave. in Las Vegas. Two white male teenagers in standard store-robbing gear (ski masks, sunglasses, etc.) tried to rob the store on August 3rd and one of them was crazy enough to jump across the display cases, when Nguyen became Mr. Stabby with some sort of knife (even though we have full color security footage WITH SOUND, I can't tell what he's using). He stabbed the kid seven times in less than a minute, including a back neck stab to finish him off while the kid shouted "I'm dead." Nguyen seems to be pushing him down at one point, like he wants the guy to die at the far corner of the store. Luckily Nguyen finally came to his senses, called 911 and the kid was taken off to the hospital, he is supposedly in stable condition. The other would-be criminal was caught nearby after stealing a tip jar or some of the vape pens on display. The psychos of social media went wild with applause:

Yeah, this is being memed into pointlessness. In a few weeks no one will remember the details.

And what people forget: similar robberies happen in Vegas routinely. The Mob did a "great job" of turning a tiny railroad-stop desert town into a giant magnet for crazy-bastardism. Some of them lose their life savings at the craps table, some start casinos (and usually go bankrupt quickly because you HAVE to be utterly ruthless to survive in that business), and others rob stores. It's a cruel place. Surrounded by a vast and still-growing suburban hellscape.

BTW, anyone remember that scandal in 2016 when an autistic UK teenager (yes, he called himself "penis") dumped a list of 20,000 FBI employees online, with emails and phone numbers? It's still readily available. Presumably most of this is outdated by now but who knows. Redditors thought he was a bloody hero at the time.

Also, my comments on r/moscow above led to the expected result: mod powers were yanked away from the pro-Ukraine people and now it's "heavily moderated" and has gone back to being a very boring and little-noticed subreddit. People are still posting occasional protests about the war but otherwise it's "business as usual".

I disagree in that the Las Vegas DA has not made a press release on the case at all. LVPD has arrested the stabbing victim, the other guy, and a third teenager who held the door for the second guy. It's only been a week, I'm sure the legal revenge will happen by September, and if not a legal revenge, some angry Nevada neo-Nazi will probably stop by with an AR-15 and either the store will be full of holes, or Nguyen will be.
