Re: Rochester Institute of Technology is Wikipedia IRL
Well, don't feel TOO bad. Higher education in general has been declining in quality, while prices go berserk. Places on the west coast that are similar to RIT, like Evergreen State College and CSU Humboldt, have also become paranoid prison-like compounds. You should see UC Berkeley today. It is one...

Rochester Institute of Technology is Wikipedia IRL
https://old.reddit.com/r/rit/comments/1jsp1zg/about_to_graduate_never_made_friends/mlotqxm/ RIT used to be so much fun, because everyone was nerdy and they would let you do whatever you wanted. Over the past few years, however, they became very strict about everything. As a result, campus is really ...

Is Wikipedia culture dead? Wikipedia is a ghost town.
I remember the days when many accounts had fun userboxes and would often get into edit wars over various topics. Nowadays, I just see routine admin work. Wikipedia is a ghost town. That's what happens when anyone with a different opinion gets driven away.

Solid evidence of Wikipedia's decline - Graphs have been broken for a year!
I don't think about Wikipedia much anymore, but found this interesting
Graphs were removed due to security issues in April 2023 - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T334940
The last update was in April 2024 - still no fix... https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Graph/Plans

Re: I have lost interest in Wikipedia
Wow, are they really sending out wait, come baaack emails? Hilarious if true. Certainly believable. The Foundation has to somehow justify its bloated existence, so I guess they must have someone in there who has a second rate marketing degree and can just about scratch up a strategy in response to ...

I have lost interest in discussing Wikipedia
Hello,
I got an email from here, Wikipedia Sucks, about whether I was interested in discussing the state of Wikipedia. I have lost interest entirely, but still hope that Wikipedia declines.

Number of Wikipedia editors has declined by 80k over the past two years!

This is for small numbers of edits. The number of 100+ edit editors actually increased during this period, but only by 800 people.
