Re: Anatoly Shariy "global banned"

Changing post names is a pain in here. So I just made it "Anatoly Shariy "global banned"". Plus, personally I don't agree with the label "journalist". Shariy is so biased, he doesn't earn that distinction. Previous threads relating: https://wikipediasucks.co/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2438 https://wi...

Anatoly Shariy "global banned"

you may have been robbed of this distinction Journalist Anatoly Shariy was added late last year to the list, without a username attached. I'm not connected to this individual but he does not appear to have violated their terms of service or pose a threat to their users Whatcha know, he's right http...

Re: "WAZ and the Magic Circle", a film about expat Ukrainian nationalists

Musk is running around firing random nobodies in the federal government. I wish he'd fire Chris Owen instead, because Owen is one of the most toxic and sleazy "writers" ever to infest Wikipedia. And seeing him on Musk's site writing at length about the Ukraine war (what qualifies him as an "expert" ...

Re: Using Google Gemini AI Gems to exclude Wikipedia and Wikipedia-influenced sources entirely from information queries

What the hell? Haha. Those are typical "generic illustrations" made by generic art directors that don't require paying license fees or subscribing to a stock-image company. And yes there are furries at Mozilla--probably more than a few. There are furries in every nook and cranny of the software wor...

Re: Elon Musk Wants What He Can’t Have: Wikipedia

Stupid little stunt aimed at short attention spans, not impressed. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2025/02/new-wikitok-web-app-allows-infinite-tiktok-style-scroll-of-wikipedia/ You don't get "all of wikipedia on a single, scrollable page", you get short useless random squibs and one image. If WP had...

Silly season keeps starting earlier and earlier........... https://x.com/PoliticsLs/status/1887216562970521872 That guy is a classic greasy-haired Wall Street shill. Thinks he knows EVERYTHING about investing but doesn't. Likes to jabber about crypto, which he CLEARLY knows fuck-all about. And sucks...

I'd not chalk anything up to incompetence.
There are people who might take exception to that, if presented as a blanket statement.......

Re: "WAZ and the Magic Circle", a film about expat Ukrainian nationalists

Appears that Chris has found himself a "calling": reporting atrocities by the Russian military on X, which isn't an especially good place to do it, apart from the large quantities of NAFOites still there. The Russian army has always been like this, going back centuries, Soviet or not Soviet. So it's...

Plus, when someone like Musk complains, they fold up like a cheap paper fan

Re: A brief critique of reddit.

Basically accurate, with one caveat: it DID NOT start out that way originally. The founders had to generate phony traffic with sockpuppets in the first year. For many years afterward they "tolerated" (I suspect they encouraged) all kinds of trolls and cranks, like Violentacrez and Nolibs. Openly rac...
