Re: The truth and cost of the Arbcom case against Magioladit
And personally I am pretty amused at the hearty F you the community said to the WMF when they re-eected Heilman to the board. It shows the amount of trust and faith the community has in the WMF.

Re: Nathalie Martin resigned as ED of Wikimedia France
I wonder if this article has anything to do with it? m I won't be a copyright violator by repasting the whole thing here but there are some pretty serious allegations on both sides with regards to Wikimedia france, Nepitism and the use of WMF funds, among other problems. If someone has the time and ...

I don't want to go digging into WMF France's dirty laundry (some of my translations got blown away with WR), but I do get the impression that the story is quite a bit more complicated than her resignation letter lets on. She doesn't seem to be taking any responsibility whatsoever (except for the go...

She announced this in an email to Chris Keating. Her reasons for the resignation, shockingly enough, is the deteriorating clima...

Re: A couple new security features for Wikipedia.. and conce
It's rather curious to me the retention of these logs corresponds to the retention for checkusers data. It makes me wonder if this is at least in part to make it easier to align this data to the checkuser logs in the future. Arguably, if someone is attempting to login to people's accounts remotely,...

Re: A couple new security features for Wikipedia.. and conce
all it takes is a little determination and patience. The linux server at this place I had been freelancing at crashed and it was revealed that somebody had for a long time been trying to breakin with a script that was just attempting logins every few hours. It is extremely common...much more so tha...
