Re: Gerbic rants again

The longer the time goes, the higher the chances that the UAP community will branch out into wider anti-Wikipedia activism as they discover that the controversy about Susan Gerbic is not an isolated incident at all. I doubt their activism will go beyond trolling a selected fewish people. They corre...

Mandating real names on websites is not really a guarantee to safeguard against abuse
And locking your front door is no guarantee that no one will break into your home.

Pretty funny advice coming from a burglar.

Re: Research Article: Wikipedia’s Intentional Distortion of the History of the Holocaust

As usual, the Signpost published a response extolling the virtues of their system, while trying to discredit the WJC report https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Signpost/2024-03-29/Special_report If there is some other website which provides greater transparency into its administrative...

Re: Research Article: Wikipedia’s Intentional Distortion of the History of the Holocaust

I really don't think that anti-Semitic bias is one of the big neutrality problems on Wikipedia - far from it. Generally it isn't. There's no shortage of editors who devoted to making sure of that, sometimes to a fault. What made this different was the obscurity of the dispute to anglophone advocacy...

Re: Stephen Harrison is releasing a book about Wikipedia in August

https://www.stephenharrison.com/the-editors It's a NOVEL. Instead of spewing his usual propaganda, he's going to make fiction about Wikipedian-like freaks. I detect incoming cringe here. That nit can barely write "plain journalism" and making a fictional story seems like he wants to screw himself.....

Re: New WPO blogpost - "Nihonjoe Has Been Naughty"

a few stupid comments like this (things which I fully expect Piotrus to say). Basically "paid editing is fine when insiders do it because it helps the encyclopedia." Recall that Grabowski and Klein tacitly accused Piotrus of being on the Polish government payroll to distort the history of the Holoc...

Re: New WPO blogpost - "Nihonjoe Has Been Naughty"

The evidence page is now full of ongoing shameless dishonesty from Joe "Nihonjoe" Monson. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Conflict_of_interest_management/Evidence He's not even trying to rebut it. No point. At least he gets the old saying "stop digging". The crazy t...

Re: New WPO blogpost - "Nihonjoe Has Been Naughty"

I've looked at Primefac before , he did a great job of hiding identifying features. Good choice of name; search engines will cough up a commonly used prime-number generator program instead. He is unquestionably a "he" due to babbling about his membership in this frat, and editing their Wp content h...

Re: New WPO blogpost - "Nihonjoe Has Been Naughty"

I love how Primefac "took it back" and "apologized" by getting other admins to do it for him.

Like yeah let's all be totally stupid so fun and easy.

Re: The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that IP addresses are personal information.

The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that IP addresses are personal information. This could mean that Wikipedia's doxxing of opponents could finally be affected and outlawed by the ruling. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/supreme-court-privacy-ipaddress-1.7130727 They ruled that police need a warr...
