The last time they posted was in December, an oddly-written article about "Baby, It's Cold Outside" and some small controversies about it.

There are certain blogs where the posting levels are inherently low because the subject matter just meanders along (Ayn Rand Conta Human Nature fits that to a "t"), but with all the Wiki-controversies you could expect WO to crank out at least two posts a month. If they cared about actual criticism.

Major reasons for the blog going dead-ship would include:

--Andreas isn't doing anything. He tried to renew his love for Wikipedia by editing the Signpost--and guess what, they pushed him out. Because he's EVIL. And now his main account is also drifting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:C ... s/Jayen466

--Dan Murphy isn't there anymore, and they really SHOULD have been nicer to him crissakes! He's an actual journalist!

--I'm not there to write anything

--Peter Damian ditto

--Greybeard/Gomi is MIA

--Greg is too busy with ACTUAL WORK (or something)

--the forum is mostly being kept alive by a few "cranks". They would be useless for writing worthy blog posts.

The brand is "ruined" because they let themselves fall apart. Call me a hopeless optimist, but if the principals (Greg, Graybeard, "Monty" Burns) found people to replace them* and pay the bills, it could become a viable forum/blog again. The trick is, who knows the system like they do?

* Because it's obvious that they don't care about the subject anymore. If they were interested we would at least see half-baked attempts to keep the blog alive and the board focused.

Kinda hard to believe Hersch left over you. You really aren't at WO anymore (with infrequent exceptions).

I remember that Strelnikov tried to identify Hersch on his blog. I don't see how that would drive him from WO though.

Is Hersch their final mod now that Hex has retired from WO?

Also, do you want the blog posts archived with archive dot is?

Now I see that Hersch's name isn't green anymore and he's "Retired."

Greybeard and SB Johnny don't seem to be active these days.
