This happened today--and I will be DAMNED if I can find any other reports. Major outage in Europe due to DDOS attacks on the Amsterdam server farm. Only seen because it made the front page of Reddit.

No one was immediately available for comment at the Wikimedia Foundation, which manages the site.
OF COURSE NOT!! Nothing bad EVER happens in Wikiworld!

Wikipedia knock-out?

And again is Trollopedia down in Europe.

Dysk always said the wikimedia software hangt met touwtjes, plakband en wasknijpers aan elkaar. (hung together with strings, tape, and clothespins)
It's old outdated stuff out of the internet of last century, and i what if it appears hackers can switch Pedia on and off like a bulb? Is it possible to fix it and who has to do that ?

Is Graaf behind this heavy DOS attack? Together with his companion De Kolonel, in short "De Heren van Eerbeek" :?: Just like they where behind the Varoufakis revolte ?
Or is it revenge of Romaine who is beaten knock-out by that French gender chick and Trolling&Sucking with his own pirate flag? :?
Or have they de handen ineengeslagen? Has Romaine with his computer skills joined the secret Cabal of "De heren van Eerbeek"?

Anyway, enough stuff for mounts of conspiracy theory bullshit of Vig and frends!

Stay on tuned for the latest updates, your conspiracy theory fake side admin.

What, you mean the world's press agencies don't know they're supposed to monitor David Gerard's Twitter stream for press notices?
From #wikimedia-operations, a bit over an hour ago: "we are suffering from a very large and broad DDoS attack."

Apparently Wikipediocracy were going to publish a blog post, but it turns out it clashed with their other priorities.

No doubt we will soon learn from the clown school how the all powerful Laura Hale managed to attack the villagers.

Knowing a considerable amount about Gerard's history, it would not surprise me at all if HE was the one responsible for the DDOS attack. He's not very welcome in Wikiland anymore and would be quite capable of pulling criminal shit purely to "prove a point".
