James Dolan, co-creator of SecureDrop with Aaron Swartz.....

Because no one else is doing it--not even the media.

....killed himself today.

Gizmodo link.

Quote:

James Dolan, ex-Marine and co-creator of the whistleblower submission system SecureDrop alongside Aaron Swartz and Wired editor Kevin Poulsen, has died. [t]he Freedom of the Press Foundation, which took over SecureDrop, reports that Dolan, age 36, took his own life.
Still "Globally Banned" on Wikipedia for the high crime of journalism.

And two days later he got a Wikipedia article. A pathetic stub as usual.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Dol ... ity_expert)

Further comment: Category: Internet activists is a very comical collection of articles. A mix of "digerati", Wikimedia supporters, cranks, and outright lunatics. Excellent proof that the "Wikimedia Movement" is controlled by IT nerds and cranks itself. Many of the people listed there would barely qualify as "notable", and many of the bios were clearly COI abuses. Some were diddled by Sarah Steirch (under her bouquet of flowery socks), some were fiddle-diddled by WMF insiders (thus), and some were the work of a notorious flaky-pastry called "David in DC". Most are rather short and useless squibs.

I see many (smellier) socks like this.
