Re: California fires
- Brian Williams, Los Angeles's "deputy mayor of public safety", is the man in charge of the Los Angeles Fire Department. about three weeks ago, he was placed on administrative leave for allegedly calling in a bomb threat to city hall.
"Mr. Williams strongly maintains his innocence and intends to vigorously fight the allegations," his attorney, Dmitry Gorin said. "We urge the public to allow the investigative process to play out and not prejudge the facts of this case before they are known." - here is an interview with mayor Karen Bass where she says literally nothing while a reporter asks questions as she returns to LA from her junket to Ghana:
- here is LA deputy fire chief Kristine Larson, a fat lesbian, with some commentary on whether she would be able to pull a man out from a fire.
- LA's $750k-a-year water chief Janisse Quiñones 'knew about empty reservoir and broken hydrants' months before fires

Re: California fires
I dunno....there's an old joke that LA is "Chicago with palm trees", same kinds of governmental corruption/incompetence, same sort of "policing", and the same sort of racial bigotry and so forth. I'd EXPECT the "great leaders of that great city" to do batshit things. Only very unpleasant or crazy people would want a job running that mess.
Seen downtown lately? It's been overrun by homeless encampments. Exploded in size after the Covid lockdowns. I don't see Mayor Bass doing anything about that. Meanwhile, large chunks of the city continue to burn. They all know DAMN well those hills have burned many times before; but people keep building houses up the hillsides. Whole thing is a giant real estate scam.
