True, especially back in the 1990s on Usenet. But when real crises hit at Bomis or early WP, Wales had a habit of being "scarce and unreachable". Bomis employees often complained about his inability to do actual business functions, or even to be in the office on a regular basis. At the same time, Musk was always in everyone's faces, starting companies or trying to seize existing ones (successfully done with Tesla, he had NO relationship to that firm's beginnings, but forced his way in and pushed out the original founders). Elmo loves to scream at and fire people. Jimbo would rather sneak away and tell one of his butt-licks to do dirty work for him.
