Email from Discord:

Hey ffffffffffffffffffffffff,
Thanks for taking the time to check out Discord!

The best relationships in our lives were built around playing games. Memories of staying up late playing Warcraft 3 with friends or sharing creations in The Sims mean so much to us. Discord's free voice and text chat is about making it easier for you to spend time with the people you care about, create these memories, and land a headshot or two.

The team is constantly working to improve the app and we love to hear from all of you. Please send feedback, suggest features, and vote on other people’s ideas check out our feedback site.

We're also available on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Hit us up if you need support or just to say hi :)

Best,
The Discord Team

The mighty TDA chimes in ...

Over on Discord:

Wiki Review posted a lot of actual, legitimate criticism of Wikipedia. Never seen any such work on WS. It is mostly Crow double, triple, quadruple, quintuple-posting in rage threads about every random person who irks him at any given time.

This is important. Since the demise of the legendary Gregory Kohs, TDA is [IMO] the only genuine Wikipedia critic right now. No other critic appears to have commercial contracts [ie, Breitbart] or contribute to reputable outlets [ie, Medium].

Actually, worth noting is that some critics [Eric Corbett, for example] contribute to Quora. I know Mr Lomax also does, and claims to more than 5 million views. Wow!

JuiceBeetle wrote:A new proposal is taking shape to handle (and survive) this flame-war, thanks to Princess' wisdom:

Can one of you, Steln or Eric tell me why we have now a wiki Discord moderator in the house who is changing the place into a nice and warm bed for Kum and Abd now for weeks?

For sure to make Timmy, Bee and Vig will follow soon. What is this wiki sekt member doing here and why does he has tools at all?
And what have we to do with the Discord vision of Princess? If we should want to post on Discord, well we should be all there I suppose. But we are not there because we consider it as total rubbish.

And why Abd here as a sysop if I may ask as you suggested, Sweety? Do you really think we don't see what you are trolling together here? And do you really think your actions will end up in a nice place where the HTD movement members are nicely babbling with your wiki friends?
And did you read my answer to your proposal? Fine, because I assure you that is what all Sucks guys are thinking of it. Just fuck off with your bullshit back to Discord, back to your friends, Sweety, we simple don't want you guys here.

Dot. EOT.

What makes you think he has a commercial contract with Brietbart? And what makes you believe Medium is a reputable outlet? If depends who is writing on it and how, given they allow both traditional publishing, and self-publishing. Much like Wikipedia, Medium is just a platform, not a publisher itself with its own editorial controls. I don't think I've seen TDA post anything on Medium as anything other than self-publishing, so essentially blogging, and indeed on at least one occasion I've seen him post something to Medium because Breitbart declined to publish it. It is what it is.

I'll put my criticism against his any day, and if he wants to pretend like there is none here, well I guess we all now know how serious he is about being a critic.

Assuming this was an accurate quote at all. Could be taken out of context, or completely fabricated, for all I know.

Well whether TDA WP has a commercial contract or not, he publishes there regularly. ;)

As a kind of blogger, Dysk, not as a journalist. :?

And that is really a huge difference. A blogger you simple can not compere with a serious journalist.

Thank you. That's brand new information. Is this the sort of top level stuff I'm missing out on by not joining Discord?

Clearly, TDA is a serious Wikipedia critic. And you are not.

If you want to become a "proper" critic, set up a portfolio of serious, reasonably academic articles on Medium. This is TDA's Medium profile:

https://medium.com/@tdadlerwp

The next step is to use your portfolio to market yourself to online newspapers / magazines. If the editors like what they see, you'll get the contract and [hopefully] some useful extra green.

I get about 10-15 people per week sending me their portfolios. From time to time I see some really good stuff.

==

Finally, I think Dysklever has done remarkably well to recruit TDA.

Absolute.
