Wikimedia sites are currently 503'ing. I guess we should make a prayer to the internet gods that they don't come back or something. 🙏

Which sites? enwiki is fine for me.
"Globally banned" since September 5, 2023 for exposing harassment.

sorry, back up already. (Outages of a few hours are not unusual for the WMF. And they commonly will not discuss what happened with journalists or any other "outsiders".)

What was down? The whole website?

This is where they pretend to report outages. It's showing a "minor slowdown" for July 23 at the moment. And that is probably all the information you will get.
