Yeah, it's terrible when you have no choice but to breathe polluted air, or have to watch your beautiful ancient forests burning down. On the bright side, you didn't lose any of those shiny high speed trains unlike some countries, right?

Suck it up.

If you've ever been close to big forest fires, it's downright oppressive — can't go outside, feel like you're smothering even indoors...

Meanwhile, The Great Trump threatens to withhold federal firefighting aid, because California has zero percent chance of supporting him in the next election, mostly.

It's pretty pathetic.

The smoke can go as far as Canada. The fires are not just a Californian concern, it's international. Not that Trump cares for Canada... or any other country.

That's the thing about smoke. Doesn't respect international borders.

Boy, we are all learning today! :ugeek:

In the past week the locals have been getting their new PG&E bills, and it appears that PG&E has jacked up electric-power rates to small residential users by a CONSIDERABLE amount. Some of them report increases of 100% or more. Much gnashing of teeth on Facebook this week.

Not like they had no warning. PG&Idiot has been harassing the state to allow rate increases constantly and routinely since the 1950s. The governor and state PUC are "dropping the ball".
