YET ANOTHER early electronics item that Wikipedia's bullshit "sum of all human knowledge" STILL does not have: anything about Otis Moorhead and the pioneering vacuum-tube manufacturer he founded in 1915-16. If you wanna talk about the origins of Silicon Valley, you HAVE to mention the early radio pioneers in the bay area. Moorhead being one of them.

https://site.ieee.org/scv-tems/files/20 ... esling.pdf (page 6)
http://uv201.com/Tube_Pages/moorhead.htm
Plus prominent mentions in Tyne's Saga Of The Vacuum Tube (ALSO not mentioned on Wikipedia) and Stokes's 70 Years of Radio Tubes and Valves (ALSO not mentioned on Wikipedia). They also don't mention a raft of smaller tube and radio manufacturers and associated people.
"Better than nothing" but VERY badly written and rambling:

Last year the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences elected David Rubin its President. Rubin has a 40-year career as a casting director in Hollywood and on television. Why is there no Wikipedia article about him??

Ever heard of a Danish TV show called "Ultra Strips Down"? Neither has Wikipedia!

(It is "Ultra smider tøjet" in Danish. I checked, it's not on Danish Wikipedia either.)

is it good, or bad, that Wikipedia doesn't mention this weird (also disgusting) 2019 film?

Re: Articles Wikipedia should have--but doesn't.
This is a fascinating article. It describes a major heroin-smuggling incident, leading to a brutal crime spree. It involves corruption in the Greek and Turkish governments. And I cannot find a single trace of any part of the story on Wikipedia. None of the major characters are listed on en-wiki.
"The Vampire Ship"
With one exception: Evangelos Marinakis has a rather long article that mentions the Noor One at the end, and says "there is no ‘charge’ against Marinakis and no ‘prosecution’ is in process.". I suspect this article was paid-edited. One of the top editors, Wikisportedit, reeks of being a paid Marinakis shill. Another "questionable type" is Connorcp, with the common editing pattern of a professional "reputation manager" working for a firm with numerous clients.

Re: Articles Wikipedia should have--but doesn't.
There is no article on en-WP about blogger Jack Stuef. He's got to be "notable" by now......
https://www.outsideonline.com/2419429/f ... jack-stuef
https://www.outsideonline.com/2419429/f ... jack-stuef
Over time, those teenage dreams of adventure receded, and Stuef went on to attend Georgetown University, where he served as editor in chief of the Georgetown Heckler, a campus humor magazine. He graduated in December 2009 and began a career as a writer, both in humor—he worked for the Onion—and in more traditional media. He became embroiled in a few controversies early in his career, both at Wonkette, which he left after he made what Poynter describes as “a tasteless joke about one of Sarah Palin’s children having Down Syndrome,” and while freelancing for Buzzfeed, which had to apologize after an article Stuef wrote incorrectly painted a popular internet cartoonist as a hard-line Republican. He left the media business soon after.

Re: Articles Wikipedia should have--but doesn't.
Perhaps there should be a thread for TV shows that exist, but "don't exist" because Wikipedia doesn't list them. Routine.
This one's even controversial.

Yes, ANOTHER tv show on streaming that Wikipedia had never heard of. Routine.

Re: Articles Wikipedia should have--but doesn't.
This is a major fuckup in WP's coverage of radio astronomy. Did you know that UHF channel 37 was never used in the United States? And that was because of one radio observatory. Which was built in the 1960s and demolished in the 1980s. It had a 400-foot long cylindrical reflector. I would call this thing "significant". You decide.
https://tedium.co/2021/03/05/channel-37 ... e-history/
But the only mention of it is one sentence, buried deep within Astronomical Observatory (University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign).

With George Swenson's arrival, Illinois began a program of radio astronomy resulting in the Vermillion River Radio Observatory that opened in 1962.

Re: Articles Wikipedia should have--but doesn't.
Ever heard of a Canadian music/art ensemble called Intersystems? Neither did I. They put out three albums in 1967-68. Google them yourself.
Well, suckers, someone I know has made a documentary film about them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YIFoU7H6CY
There is NO article on WP about Intersystems. There is an article about co-founder John Mills-Cockell. Which links to an article about a modern-day corporation having no relation to Intersystems the group. Idiocy.
(The Intersystems article is obviously being watched by paid editors, as usual. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Tkeppeler)
