The Wiki Cabal, the newest Wikipedia criticism blog

Because no one else is doing it--not even the media.

There weak point is Europa. Millions of dollars in the bank, you own staff of lawyers and spending millions a year on outside lawyers does't help you there. Law case are rather cheap in Europe, and in our Code Napoleon system you can do a lot yourself. There danger is a two-stage rocket over two continents, win in Europe, take the verdict and the money and travel to America.

Good to hear. As Lady Hale quoted “in England, justice is open to all – like the Ritz”.

That quote is deep irony!

But thankfully justice is reasonably open, certainly more so than the US.

Even more so with the advent of crowdfunding.

"crowdfunded lawsuit against wikipedia gives internet giant headache"

Yeah that would be a fun headline.

In Holland too. If you don't have money you get a state subsidised lawyer. But it us forbidden for a lawyer to take case what has not a change, so a trail just fore the trail is impossible. There must be a reusable change a lawyer can win otherwise he or she has to explane it to what we call de deken. A lawyer can in that case even loose his licence.

The same concept in the UK is quite rare, normally the view is that anyone can take whatever they like to court provided they pay the fee, if they can't pay the fee then it will be refunded to them if they fill out the paperwork.

They can still bring whatever case they like, even with a refunded fee, the only danger is the judge will call the morons and get them to pay the costs of the other sides solicitors.

State subsidised lawyers are in general confined only to cases where you are defending yourself from someone suing you. "Legal aid" is quite restricted.

Artikel 7:401 BW. Een advocaat dient “redelijk vakbekwaam” te werk gaan. He must be a professional and act in that way. And the state subsidised lawyers have limitations. But, to give a impression, to let a lawyer look to your case, a scan, if it is reachable is 150-200 euro. But the first 30 minutes are for free. A law cause is hard to say. From 2000 euro to 4000 euro but it can get more. Only to give a indication.

A seemingly persuasive example of the sort of wierdo that is attracted to Wikipedia. But sadly lacking in any explanation of what marks him out. Not that plucking random Wikipedians out to the weeds who laugh at isn't a worthwhile activity (the poe-faced twats of Wikipediocracy seeing this as beneath them), but if that's the purpose, he needs to make it clear. And if not, the same applies.

There is something definitely very odd about this user though, that potentially makes him worth special mention.

Hopefully the reason is not a desire to publicise one's own socks. Never understood why people do that.

Turned out this guy was a sock, just not very good at it.

Decline reason: I really can't put it any more clearly than Tony has below: “I’ve been breaking your rules for 2 years without getting caught!” isn’t a valid unblock reason. Yunshui 雲水 07:23, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

However the really weird stupid thing is:

Changes.

https://thewikicabal.com/2018/09/25/changes/

I think you should still try to aim for a daily post, just make sure it is always well written and relevant. There's certainly enough source material, the only limit is surely time. I hope it's clear already, but I'd be happy for you to use any of my stuff if you need to quickly plug a gap. I think you did well managing that rate for this long, it would be a shame to stop now. It is a selling point.

Also, don't get too wrapped up in what looks to others to be worthwhile or quality content. For a start, that may not be a true reflection of its usefulness or necessity, and you may well lose the motivation for doing it. Write what interests you, write what reflects your views, and don't try to do anything else.

Chasing popularity and what they believe readers want, is exactly what killed Wikipediocracy, turning it from a serious critic site to a sad little chill out room. They don't seem to have noticed it even now, but it is a long time since anyone but the Wikipedians cared what they write about.
